The lifeless body of a man was found Sunday morning in the Acahuapa River, in the San Vicente Sur district.
According to rescue workers, the person was identified as Alejandro José Reyes, though no further details were provided about his background.
Local residents said the man may have been swept away by the current during rains the previous night, although authorities will be responsible for determining the circumstances of the incident.
The relevant agencies are carrying out the inspection and identification of the body.
In the afternoon, authorities confirmed a similar case. The body of a man identified as Eliseo López Ramos, approximately 45 years old, was found in the Ceniza River, in the El Edén canton, in the jurisdiction of Sonsonate Centro.
According to preliminary information provided by locals, the victim reportedly entered the river while intoxicated, leading to the presumption that he may have died from accidental drowning.
However, this account remains under investigation by the police (PNC) to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
The scene was processed by police officers, while Forensic Medicine Institute (IML) personnel removed the body.

El cuerpo sin vida de un hombre fue localizado la mañana de este domingo en el río Acahuapa, en el distrito de San Vicente Sur.
Según socorristas, la persona fue identificada como Alejandro José Reyes, de quien no se proporcionó más detalles sobre su origen.
Habitantes de la zona señalaron que existe la posibilidad de que el hombre haya sido arrastrado por la corriente durante las lluvias registradas la noche anterior, aunque serán las autoridades las encargadas de determinar las circunstancias del hecho.
Las instituciones correspondientes realizan el procedimiento de inspección y reconocimiento del cadáver.
Por la tarde, las autoridades confirmaron un caso similar. Se trata del cadáver de un hombre identificado como Eliseo López Ramos, de aproximadamente 45 años, que fue localizado en el río Ceniza, en el cantón El Edén, jurisdicción de Sonsonate Centro.
De acuerdo con información preliminar proporcionada por lugareños, la víctima habría ingresado al afluente en estado de ebriedad, por lo que se presume que pudo haber fallecido por ahogamiento de forma accidental.
