An armed attack was carried out on Sunday night in San Salvador and at least eight people suffered injuries, the police reported.
According to the institution, the incident occurred at a bar located at kilometer 24.5 of the Troncal del Norte highway, in the Guazapa district of the San Salvador Norte municipality.
“Preliminary information indicates that the victims were shot at from a vehicle,” the police indicated.
They added that “the victims were taken to medical centers, where they are receiving medical care and remain alive.”
According to the police, intelligence and investigative teams were deployed in the area to locate those responsible.
During the early hours of the morning, the police reported that they had located the vehicle used in the attack in Cojutepeque. It is a red SUV with license plate P510168.
“The suspects were involved in an accident and abandoned the vehicle. Police work continues to determine their whereabouts,” they indicated.

Un ataque armado fue cometido el domingo por la noche en San Salvador y al menos ocho personas sufrieron lesiones, informó la Policía Nacional Civil (PNC).
De acuerdo con la institución, el hecho ocurrió en una cervecería ubicada en el kilómetro 24.5 de la carretera Troncal del Norte, en el distrito de Guazapa del municipio de San Salvador Norte.
“Preliminarmente, se conoce que las víctimas fueron atacadas a disparos desde un vehículo”, indicó la PNC.
Agregó que “las víctimas fueron trasladadas a centros asistenciales, donde reciben atención médica y permanecen con vida”.
Según la PNC, equipos de inteligencia e investigaciones fueron desplegados en la zona para ubicar a los responsables”.
Durante la madrugada, la PNC informó que había localizado en Cojutepeque el vehículo utilizado en el ataque. Se trata de una camioneta roja con placas P510168.
“Los sujetos sufrieron un accidente y abandonaron el automotor. El trabajo policial continúa para dar con el paradero”, indicó.
