A man accused of allegedly committing the murder of a woman in the district of Candelaria de la Frontera, in Santa Ana Oeste, was arrested by the police, confirmed the head of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), Gustavo Villatoro.
The official identified the suspect as Maynor Humbert G. F.
He will initially be prosecuted for the crime of aggravated homicide.
“Anyone who takes the life of another Salvadoran will be pursued by justice and will never see the light of day again… We will show no mercy to any killer; the full force and weight of the Law will fall upon them,” Villatoro said in a message posted on social media.
He noted that the arrest was carried out through coordinated work between the police and the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).
Authorities did not specify where the suspect was arrested or the circumstances of how the incident, which was reported on April 30, occurred.
It was committed in the Las Ánimas neighborhood, in the district of Candelaria de la Frontera, in Santa Ana Oeste.
“We are reporting a homicide in Candelaria de la Frontera, Santa Ana Oeste. The victim is a 65-year-old woman who was injured with a bladed weapon,” the police stated hours after the incident.

Capturan a presunto asesino de mujer de 65 años en Candelaria de la Frontera

Un hombre que está acusado de presuntamente cometer el homicidio en perjuicio de una mujer en el distrito de Candelaria de la Frontera, en Santa Ana Oeste, fue detenido por la Policía Nacional Civil (PNC), confirmó el titular del Ministerio de Justicia y Seguridad Pública (MJSP), Gustavo Villatoro.
El funcionario identificó al presunto responsable como Maynor Humbert G. F.
Inicialmente será procesado por el delito de homicidio agravado.
“Todo aquel que le arrebate la vida a otro salvadoreño será perseguido por la justicia y no volverá a ver la luz del sol… No vamos a tener compasión con ningún asesino, toda la fuerza y el peso de la Ley caerá sobre ellos”, indicó Villatoro a través de un mensaje en redes sociales.
Señaló que la captura fue realizada tras el trabajo coordinado de la Policía y la Fiscalía General de la República (FGR).
Las autoridades no precisaron dónde fue detenido el presunto responsable y las circunstancias de cómo ocurrió el hecho que fue reportado el 30 de abril.
Este fue cometido en la colonia Las Ánimas, en el distrito de Candelaria de la Frontera, en Santa Ana Oeste.
“Reportamos un homicidio en Candelaria de la Frontera, Santa Ana Oeste. La víctima es una mujer de 65 años quien fue lesionada con arma blanca”, indicó la Policía horas después del hecho.
