Residents of the urban area of San Pedro Nonualco, in La Paz Centro, report that they have had problems with their drinking water service for over two months, which they say is limited to a few hours in the early morning by the National Administration of Aqueducts and Sewers (ANDA).
Those affected are mainly residents in the El Centro neighborhood and on Antonio Hernández and Jesús Peña streets, where they say the service is no longer consistent, forcing them to find alternatives to get their water supply.
“Since February we haven’t had water like before. Very little comes through, and sometimes only for one or two hours in the early morning, but without enough pressure. There are days when nothing comes through at all, and people have to stay up late or haul water to get by,” said Salomón Huezo, an affected resident.
Residents noted that despite the irregular service, ANDA bills arrive at their homes right on time.
On the matter, a local ANDA source said that water distribution in the area is divided into sectors by schedule. The autonomous agency was contacted for a statement but did not respond.

Habitantes del área urbana de San Pedro Nonualco, en La Paz Centro, denuncian que tienen más de dos meses con problemas en el servicio de agua potable, el cual afirman que es limitado a pocas horas en la madrugada por parte de la Administración Nacional de Acueductos y Alcantarillados (ANDA).
Los afectados son principalmente los residentes en el barrio El Centro y en las calles Antonio Hernández y Jesús Peña, donde aseguran que el servicio ha dejado de ser constante, obligándolos a buscar alternativas para abastecerse.
“Desde febrero no tenemos agua como antes, cae muy poco y a veces solo una o dos horas en la madrugada, pero sin presión suficiente. Hay días en que no cae nada y la gente tiene que desvelarse o andar cargando agua para resolver”, dijo Salomón Huezo, afectado.
Los pobladores señalaron que, a pesar del irregular servicio, los cobros de la ANDA llegan puntuales a sus viviendas.
Al respecto, una fuente de ANDA del lugar afirmó que la distribución del agua en la zona es sectorizada por horarios. Se consultó con la autónoma por una postura, pero no hubo respuesta.
