Ahead of Colombian singer Shakira’s concert in El Salvador, several public institutions announced that staff would work remotely today, while others reported that employees would only work until 12:00 noon.
The measure seeks to ease mobility and reduce traffic congestion, as a larger influx of visitors to San Salvador is anticipated.
Among the institutions that have arranged remote work for their staff are the Office of the Human Rights Ombudsman, the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Finance. Since Thursday evening, department heads were notified to relay instructions to administrative personnel and organize work-from-home arrangements.
In the case of the Ministry of Finance and the Office of the Human Rights Ombudsman, only public-facing service staff will report in person. Additionally, Legislative Assembly employees will leave at 1:00 p.m. to continue their workday remotely.
The Colombian singer’s first concert is scheduled for Saturday, February 7; however, crowds are expected to begin arriving as early as Friday.

Ante el concierto de la cantante colombiana Shakira en El Salvador, varias instituciones públicas anunciaron que este día trabajarán bajo la modalidad de teletrabajo, mientras que otras informaron que podrían laborar únicamente hasta las 12:00 del mediodía.
La medida busca facilitar la movilidad y reducir la congestión vehicular, ya que se prevé una mayor afluencia de visitantes en San Salvador.
Entre las instituciones que han dispuesto teletrabajo para su personal se encuentran la Procuraduría para la Defensa de los Derechos Humanos (PDDH), el Ministerio de Cultura y el Ministerio de Hacienda. Desde la noche del jueves, las jefaturas fueron notificadas para girar instrucciones al personal administrativo y organizar el trabajo desde casa.
En el caso del Ministerio de Hacienda y de la PDDH, únicamente se presentará el personal de atención al usuario. Además, los empleados de la Asamblea Legislativa se retirarán a la 1.00 pm para continuar su jornada en teletrabajo.
El primer concierto de la cantante colombiana está programado para el sábado 7 de febrero; sin embargo, se espera afluencia de personas desde este viernes.
