Deportations from the United States surged 46% during 2025, as 175 flights carrying returned migrants arrived in the country, far exceeding the figures recorded in 2024.
The sustained rise in expulsions of Salvadoran citizens is part of a tightening of immigration policies. More than 16,000 people were directly impacted by deportations—most of them migrants who had been attempting to reside in or enter the United States without authorization, many with family and employment ties in their destination country.
The heaviest flow was recorded between June and July 2025, a period during which as many as 22 flights per month were reported, with returns carried out primarily by air to El Salvador, though deportations from Mexico and other countries were also documented.

El mayor flujo se registró entre junio y julio de 2025, periodo en el que se reportaron hasta 22 vuelos mensuales, con retornos realizados principalmente por vía aérea hacia El Salvador, aunque también se documentaron deportaciones desde México y otros países.
