The Presidential House convened meetings with residents (physicians in training) to outline the recruitment process for the new Hospital Rosales. Yet none of these gatherings included the hospital’s most seasoned physicians.

The first meeting took place on July 17, 2025; the second on July 31; and the third, most recently, on September 4.

In those meetings, the residents learned that the hospital’s long-serving staff—many of whom had served as their mentors—would be reassigned to hospitals such as Hospital Zacamil.

“They were told that no veteran physician would remain at the new Rosales, that they should forget about their old mentors, and that specialists were already lined up to join. The residents felt deeply conflicted by all this information,” recounted one individual with access to the meetings.

During the initial meeting, according to this source, discussions included salaries reaching up to four thousand dollars and a new hiring system featuring twelve-hour shifts. “They knew the more experienced physicians would not stay silent about shortages in supplies. They aim to hire people who will not complain and who are willing to keep quiet,” the source added.

Las reuniones secretas de Casa Presidencial

Casa Presidencial realizó reuniones con residentes (médicos en formación) para explicar cómo sería el reclutamiento del personal del nuevo Hospital Rosales. Pero en ninguna incluyó a los médicos con más experiencia del hospital.

La primera reunión fue el 17 de julio de 2025; la segunda el 31 de julio y la tercera, más reciente, el 4 de septiembre pasado.

En esas reuniones, los residentes se enteraron de que el personal antiguo del hospital, quienes eran los maestros de muchos de ellos, sería enviado a hospitales como el Zacamil. 

«Les dijeron que ningún médico antiguo estaría en el nuevo Rosales, que se olvidaran de los viejos maestros, que ellos ya tenían listos a los especialistas que se iban a incorporar. Los residentes se sintieron conflictuados con toda esa información», contó una de las personas que tuvo acceso a esas reuniones.

En la primera reunión, según esta fuente, les hablaron de salarios de hasta cuatro mil dólares, y de un nuevo sistema de contratación con jornadas de doce horas de trabajo. «Ellos sabían que los médicos más antiguos no se quedaban callados si había falta de insumos. Quieren contratar gente que no proteste y que esté dispuesta a quedarse callada», agregó la fuente.
