Sentencing Judge Juan Antonio Durán stated that the arrest of five public transportation business owners is intended to sow fear, as well as serve as a smokescreen for a series of events tarnishing the image of the unconstitutional President Nayib Bukele, such as the drugs found in Panama and the report by the digital newspaper El Faro revealing negotiations with gangs, in addition to the failure at Los Chorros due to poor design.

According to Judge Durán, the arrested business owners have not committed any crime, as there was no decree or law to declare transportation free of charge; the only thing that existed was an order on the social network «X,» formerly Twitter.

“The public transportation issue is a smokescreen; they want to give away other people’s work. The strategy of making transportation free has nothing to do with solving the Los Chorros issue; one thing has nothing to do with the other,” he commented during the program Encuentro con Julio Villagrán.

He also believed that making transportation free throughout the country is an improvised and populist decision. It plays with the needs of the population, wins them over, and relevant, important issues are pushed to the background, said the sentencing judge, one of the few independent professionals.

He stated that the problem at Los Chorros is due to the project’s design; the workers on the project should have foreseen this situation. Simply passing through the area made it evident that the slope could collapse at any moment. Many analysts are primarily pointing to the lack of information regarding the construction projects.

“This government has been improvising; it proceeds by trial and error. It makes a mistake and throws up a smokescreen; what went wrong is quickly replaced by a new focus of attention. By concentrating power, it does whatever it wants; they act based on fear. Now the social network X is a source of law; it is above the Constitution, above the law,” said the judge.

He also reiterated that those around this small government group profit from public resources, as evidenced by the luxury, ostentation, and increased wealth of the Bukele family and their associates.

Durán maintained that the government and its associates have the old Salvadoran oligarchy intimidated; at any moment, they can arrest any of the old 14 families and expropriate all their assets, as they did to former President Cristiani.

He indicated that the country is living under a dictatorship where the person exercising governmental power is doing so under the guise of an unconstitutional presidency, because it violates the constitutional rules prohibiting re-election. This, he added, leads to a concentration of power: the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches are in the hands of a small elite that does as it pleases in cases of interest to them.

“Bukele is no statesman; he is just another corrupt official, another populist, another dictator,” said Judge Durán.

Captura de empresarios del transporte es para sembrar miedo: juez Durán

El juez de Sentencia, Juan Antonio Durán, manifestó que la captura de cinco empresarios del transporte público es para sembrar miedo, además de una cortina de humo debido a una serie de sucesos que manchan la imagen del inconstitucional presidente Nayib Bukele, como la droga encontrada en Panamá y el reportaje del periódico digital El Faro que evidencia las negociaciones con las pandillas, además del fracaso en Los Chorros por un mal diseño.

Para el juez Durán, los empresarios capturados no han cometido delito, pues no hubo ningún decreto o ley para declarar la gratuidad del transporte, lo único que existió fue una orden en la red social «X», antes Twitter.

“El tema del transporte público es una cortina de humo, quieren regalar el trabajo de los demás, la estrategia de poner el transporte gratis no tiene nada que ver con solucionar el tema de Los Chorros, no tiene que ver una cosa con la otra”, comparó durante el espacio Encuentro con Julio Villagrán.

Asimismo, consideró que poner gratis el transporte en todo el país es una decisión improvisada y populista, juega con la necesidad de la población, se la echa en el bolsillo y los tema relevantes, que son importantes pasan a un segundo y tercer plano, dijo el juez de sentencia, uno de los pocos profesionales independientes.

Expresó que el problema en Los Chorros se debe al diseño de obra, los trabajadores en el proyecto tuvieron que haber previsto esa situación, solo el hecho de pasar por la zona evidenciaba que el talud podía caer en cualquier momento, muchos analistas están señalando sobre todo la falta de información en las obras.

“Este gobierno ha ido improvisando, va de ensayo y error, se equivoca y tira una cortina de humo, ya aquello que estuvo mal hoy es otro centro de atención; concentrando el poder se hace lo que le da la gana, actúan sobre la base del miedo, ahora la red social X es fuente de derecho, está por encima de la Constitución, de la ley”, dijo el juez.

A la vez, reiteró que quienes están en torno a ese pequeño grupo del gobierno se lucran de la cosa pública, quedando evidenciado en el lujo, la ostentación y el incremento del patrimonio de la familia Bukele y los allegados.

Durán sostuvo que el gobierno y sus allegados tienen a la antigua oligarquía salvadoreña amedrentada, de un momento a otro pueden capturar a cualquiera de las antiguas 14 familias y expropiarle todo como hicieron el ex presidente Cristiani.

Indicó que en el país se vive en una dictadura donde quien ejerce el gobierno lo está haciendo bajo la figura de la presidencia inconstitucional, porque rompe con las reglas constitucionales que prohíben la reelección, lo cual, genera la concentración de poderes, el Ejecutivo, Legislativo y Judicial están en manos de una pequeña élite y hace lo que quiere sobre los casos de su interés.

“Bukele no es ningún estadista, es un corrupto más, un populista más, un dictador más”, dijo el Juez Durán.
