The mayor of La Libertad Este, Milagro Navas, assured that she has submitted notices to the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) regarding possible anomalies in three of the five districts that make up the municipality.
Although she did not publicly specify the names of the districts in question, she said that in them “we have found disorder,” but minutes before she admitted that “San José Villanueva, I believe, had $230,000 and Huizúcar $600,000 left for the mayor.”
La Libertad Este is made up of the districts of Huizúcar, Nuevo Cuscatlán, San José Villanueva, Zaragoza, and Antiguo Cuscatlán.

In the other city halls, instead of finding well-established finances, “we have found disorder in the two city halls,” said Navas.
“In all the city halls there are debts, and we will have to pay, but I don’t have any data, and I wouldn’t like to be talking where I don’t have concrete information (and if that could constitute a crime) it is up to whoever has to judge it, the laws as they should be. My duty is to report only and let those responsible take action on the matter,” assured Navas.
The mayor also admitted that there have been some layoffs in the districts, and mentioned that they involve “people who did not want to comply with our rules of the game as a council and other trusted people on all sides, not just for being the mayor of La Libertad Este; I have done it.”

La alcaldesa de La Libertad Este, Milagro Navas, aseguró que ha presentado avisos ante la Fiscalía General de la República ante posibles anomalías en tres de los cinco distritos que conforman el municipio.
Aunque no especificó de forma pública los nombres de los distritos que se tratan dijo que en ellos “hemos encontrado desorden”, aunque minutos antes admitió que “San José Villanueva creo que tenía $230,000 y Huizúcar $600,000 que dejó al alcalde”.
La Libertad Este está conformada por los distritos de Huizúcar, Nuevo Cuscatlán San José Villanueva, Zaragoza y Antiguo Cuscatlán.

En las otras alcaldías en lugar de encontrar las finanzas bien establecidas “hemos encontrado desorden en las dos alcaldías”, dijo Navas.
“En todas las alcaldías hay deudas y nos va a tocar pagar, pero no tengo un dato y no me gustaría estar hablando donde no tengo un dato concreto (y si eso podría constituir delito) eso ya es quien lo tiene que juzgar, las leyes como deben de estar. Mi deber es informar nada más y hay a quien le corresponda que tome cartas en el asunto”, aseguró Navas.
La alcaldesa también admitió que se han realizado algunos despidos en los distritos y mencionó que se trata de “gente que no ha querido cumplir las reglas del juego de nosotros como consejo y de otra gente que eran de confianza que todos lados, no solamente por ser alcaldesa del Este, lo he hecho”.
