The request to declare the nullity of the presidential candidacy of the Nuevas Ideas party filed by the candidate for congressman David Elías was resolved as inadmissible, as has occurred with other requests filed by lawyers.
The request of Elías consisted of legal arguments to establish the “improperness” of the candidacy of the current president. Articles 75, 88, 131, 152, 154 and 248 of the Constitution of El Salvador suppress the rights of citizens who promote the immediate presidential reelection and order the presidential alternation.
Even so, the magistrates of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) issued such resolution. “History will judge them,” Elías pointed out.
“Our Constitution is respected and it is our duty and obligation to make it be respected, immediate reelection is unconstitutional”, those were the comments by the tricolor candidate in social media.

TSE declaró “improcedentes” las solicitudes de nulidad a candidatura de Bukele
La solicitud para declarar la nulidad de la candidatura presidencial del partido Nuevas Ideas interpuesta por el candidato a diputado David Elías fue resuelta como improcedente, tal como ha ocurrido con otras solicitudes interpuestas por abogados.
La solicitud de Elías consistía en argumentos legales para establecer la “improcedencia” de la candidatura del actual mandatario, y es que los artículos 75, 88, 131, 152, 154 y 248 de la Constitución de El Salvador suprimen los derechos ciudadanos quienes promuevan la reelección presidencial inmediata y ordenan la alternabilidad presidencial.
Aún así, los magistrados del Tribunal Supremo Electoral (TSE) emitieron dicha resolución. “La historia los juzgará”, señaló Elías.
“Nuestra Constitución se respeta y es nuestro deber y obligación hacer que se respete, la reelección inmediata es inconstitucional”, reaccionó el candidato tricolor en redes.
