Magistrate Guillermo Wellman recently admitted that there is a risk that the companies will desist from participating; the magistrate anticipated that, if the delays in the Tribunal continue, the elections could be a “failure”.
For Wellman, although he assured that there will be an overseas voting system, if the process was not accelerated, it would be “at risk”.
Between February 16 and March 15 of this year, the TSE should have had everything ready to start the electoral process of electronic voting and to comply with the law of voting abroad with the contracting of the company that would be in charge. That was the initial date by which the contracting should have been completed.

El magistrado Guillermo Wellman admitió recientemente que se corre el riesgo de que las empresas desistan de participar; el magistrado anticipó que, de seguir los retrasos en el Tribunal, las elecciones podrían ser un “fracaso”.
Para Wellman, si bien aseguró que sí habrá sistema de voto en el exterior, si no aceleraban el proceso, el mismo caería “en riesgo”.
Entre el 16 de febrero y el 15 de marzo del presente año, el TSE debió haber tenido todo listo para enrumbar el proceso electoral de voto electrónico y dar cumplimiento a la ley de voto en el exterior con la contratación de la empresa que se haría cargo. Esa fue la fecha inicial en la que debió culminar la contratación.
