The Salvadoran vice-president, Félix Ulloa, explained yesterday the change of position of Nayib Bukele, who,before becoming president, assured that presidential reelection is prohibited in El Salvador: the article that enables him was hidden, and the president did not know it.
During the program La Tribu interview of 107.7 FM, Ulloa tried to justify once again the interpretation made by the Constitutional Chamber imposed by the ruling party to give the green light to the possible immediate reelection of Bukele.
However, he was questioned by the president’s position on his possible reelection. “I can be president 80 times, but I cannot be president twice in a row,” Bukele said in an interview with YouTuber Luisito Comunica in 2021.
On this, Ulloa said that Bukele “had not read the article well because, I tell you, they are articles that are hidden, that have not come to light, and that are not known.”

El vicepresidente salvadoreño, Félix Ulloa, explicó ayer el cambio de postura de Nayib Bukele, quien antes de ser presidente aseguró que la reelección presidencial está prohibida en El Salvador: el artículo que lo habilita estaba escondido, y el mandatario no lo conocía.
Durante la entrevista del programa La Tribu, de 107.7 FM, Ulloa trató de justificar una vez más la interpretación que hizo la Sala de lo Constitucional impuesta por el oficialismo para dar luz verde a una posible reelección inmediata de Bukele.
Sin embargo, fue cuestionado por la postura que tenía el mismo presidente sobre su posible reelección. “Puedo ser presidente 80 veces, pero no puedo ser presidente dos veces seguidas”, dijo Bukele en una entrevista con el youtuber Luisito Comunica, en 2021.
Sobre esto, Ulloa dijo que Bukele “no había leído bien el artículo, porque, te digo, son artículos que están escondidos, que no han salido a la luz y que no se saben”.
