CNN journalist Fernando del Rincón harshly questioned the Human Rights Ombudsman, Apolonio Tobar, for the slowness with which thousands of allegations of illegal detentions during the emergency regime are investigated and that there are even innocent prisoners whose lives are at risk behind bars with gang members and gang members.
In an interview this Wednesday night on CNN Conclusions, Apolonio Tobar said that he has under investigation more than 3,140 cases of allegations of human rights violations received as of July 24.
Of these, 75% refer to “alleged arbitrary detentions,” he described.
Tobar pointed out that there are opinions or information from agencies that categorically indicate that there have been illegal or arbitrary detentions but clarified that the PDDH “is the only institution authorized to investigate complaints and determine if there were arbitrary detentions.”

El periodista de CNN, Fernando del Rincón, cuestionó duramente al procurador de Derechos Humanos, Apolonio Tobar, por la lentitud con la que se investigan miles de denuncias de detenciones ilegales durante el régimen de excepción y que incluso hay inocentes presos cuyas vidas están en riesgo tras las rejas con pandilleros y mareros.
En una entrevista este miércoles por la noche en el programa Conclusiones CNN, Apolonio Tobar dijo que tiene en investigación más de 3,140 casos de denuncias de violaciones a los derechos humanos recibidas hasta el 24 de julio.
De esas un 75% se refieren a “supuestas detenciones arbitrarias”, según las calificó.
Tobar señaló que hay opiniones o informaciones de organismos que señalan en forma categórica que ha habido detenciones ilegales o arbitrarias, pero aclaró que la PDDH “es la única institución facultada para investigar las denuncias y determinar si hubo detenciones arbitrarias”.
