Although hundreds of people were forcibly taken out by the morning yesterday morning, there are still many who remain 200 meters from the prison, waiting for the release of prisoners.

Hundreds of relatives of those captured during the emergency regime who were waiting outside the Mariona Penal Center last Monday night were evicted by the Law Enforcement Unit (UMO) elements during the early hours of Tuesday.

One of those affected, who arrives because she has 14 relatives captured, confirmed to LA PRENSA GRÁFICA that the UMO came to remove them by force at 2:00 in the morning, and that is why she had to withdraw from the place.

Many of these families had to wait until they arrived in the early hours of Tuesday to be able to grab public transport and return to their homes. There were no relatives present in front of the prison in the morning, but some moved a few meters away.

Yesterday everything looked desolate in the first 200 meters of the street in front of Mariona. But above there were several groups of people located in temporary camps. They refuse to leave without knowing of their detained relatives and are waiting for the possibility of being released at night or early in the morning.

The mothers who continue their struggle commented that they are not afraid and will wait there until the last consequence because they cannot be at home without knowing how their children are doing. They say they are distressed by the testimonies of men who have been released and have talked about the torture they were subjected to while locked up in Mariona.
